Have you been enduring pain for years and tried every single therapy imaginable? Has your doctor pulled his hair out not knowing what to do with you and your pain? Have you tried every therapy that is available to you and still no results? Well here is something for you:
I specialize in Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, developed by Janet Travell & Simons, M.D.s, combined with deep tissue and other neuromuscular release techniques to successfully treat injuries. I am currently providing some NFL Miami Dolphins with trigger point therapy to speed post game recovery, prevent injuries, increase range of motion and for longevity of pro career. The therapy can be a little painful and intense in the beginning and requires strength and stamina and from research, there is no one that does this particular type of therapy here in South Florida. Although it can be a bit painful, it is within the tolerance level and pressure of the patient and is result oriented for those patients with even chronic pain issues. Know that Trigger Points are sensitive and active and are tender to the touch - I am NOT causing the pain I am applying techniques that require pressure to deactivate the trigger point and you are feeling the tenderness of the trigger point. It becomes less sensitive and tender over sessions and the key is to stick with the therapy to resolve your issues - in otherwords never, never, never quit - Sir Winston Churchill. If it works for pro NFL football players it is going to work for you too!
It has been documented that Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy is beneficial for the treatment of injuries and rehabilitation and is being recognized as treatment for traditional medical clinics. Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy specifically addresses the issues of pain, spasm, and tightness. Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy is recommended before physical therapy to facilitate a pain free program of strengthening and ROM exercises for the patient and to enhance the recovery rate.
Several patients with cervical strain from an auto whiplash injury also sustain a TMJ strain or disorder and I treat patients with trigger point therapy and other techniques intra and extra orally.
I have worked on hundreds of patients and can tell you from experience that if you are willing to endure the initial pain associated with the therapy, that you will get results.
I remember a bartender that had a frozen shoulder who could not even raise her arm to comb her hair. After Trigger Point Therapy, she had complete range of motion and could raise her arm up and function normally.
In the beginning you must come to therapy on a regular basis to start the healing process and then on maintenance schedule once the pain is gone and range of motion is back to normal. My training is from Canada and to be sure - Canadians are a hardy bunch and like the deep "feel good" type of pain that is associated with this type of therapy and other techniques that I use.
